Similar to the courtesy lights on the 300 doors. Remove the oem festoon bulb with a towel, bulb is hot. Slide one end of the LED festoon bulb down the folded socket prong. Gently unfold the other folded socket prong and work the other end of the LED festoon bulb down. Once it is snug in place and illuminated. Flick it a few times to make sure it is snug. 1. Use a short handle phillips screw driver to remove the license plate housing screws.
2. Pull the entire lens down and out. Twist the 194 light socket loose, out of the back of the clear lens.
3. Pull out the 194 oem bulb. Insert the 194 4-star SMT bulb into the 194 socket. Push it in as far as it will go.

1. From the click on/off end of the clear lens. Use a small jewelry/glasses flat head screw driver. Carefully wedge it into the on/off end of the lens and pry that end of the lens down. It may seem like it will snap, don’t worry. The other end of the lens has a tab on it and simply pull the lens, after popping it from the on/off end and it will come out.
2. You should now see the oem 194 bulb and a rear reflector.
3. I use the small flat head to pop the 194 bulb out. I have a towel in the other hand to catch the hot 194 LED bulbs.
4. Do not remove the rear reflector on the rear map lights.
5. Before installing the 194 tower SMT bulbs. Go to the socket prongs that hold the bulb in place. When you remove the oem 194 bulbs, the prongs tend to un-bend a bit. So take your fingers and lightly re-squeeze them a bit tighter.
6. Once the new 194 LED is installed. Flick it a few times to make sure it stay on. If it doesn’t. Pull the led bulb out and re-squeeze the socket prongs. Once the light stays on. Re-install the clear lens.
7. Take the end of the lens with the wedge on it and insert that into place. Then push in the on/off click end and you are done.

It may seem like it will snap, don’t worry. The back end of the lens is held in place by 2 notches. Pull down with your fingers and it should pop free. Sometimes it pops free when you are wedged in with the flat head and pulling down.
2. Remove the rectangular metal reflector. I use a pair of pliers, because the metal may be hot. You will be left with the oem bulb and the rear refector, behind the bulb.
3. I use a small hand towel to reach up and remove the oem bulb, it will be very hot.
4. Take your pliers and get a grip on the rear reflector piece, closest to the roof. You will need to pull and twist to get the rear reflector to pop off of its 2 moutning points. At this point. You can throw away both metal reflectors, you will no longer need those.
5. Before installing the 44mm LED bulbs. Go to the socket prongs that hold the bulb in place. When you remove the oem bulb, the prongs tend to un-bend a bit. So take your fingers and lightly re-squeeze them a bit tighter. Then pop in your LED bulb and roll it until all the 9 led lights are aiming down. You can put your hand under the light to help see where it is aiming.
6. Take the clear lens and line it up with the 2 notches in back. Pop those into place. Then pop the click on/off end back up into place.

LED Interior Lights Installation Guide on Ford explorer
Hey everyone. I wanted to show everyone how to replace those regular interior light bulbs for LED bulbs on 4th gen ford explorer. I’m not sure if someone has or not posted this before, but here you go. I did this on my 2007 ford explorer yesterday afternoon. This project took about 30-45 minutes to do. I am not responsible for any damage YOU do to your vehicle. Attempt this installation AT YOUR OWN RISK.
You are going to order 6 led bulbs. This is how much it needs for all interior bulbs. 3 sets of 2 bulbs per pack, hopefully I said this right with free shipping. I believe is a good deal. You are going to have some basic hand tools.

First thing is to remove screw from over head console.

Once you take remove screw, you will need to pop down front over head console, carefully.

Just wanted to show everyone what holds the front part of over head console. Then you unplug connector to the lights.

Take off the 4 screws in the circle. Sorry for the picture, I forgot to take picture of item above flip over. (The 3rd picture shows a better view of component with screws)
(at least it shows the view of the regular bulb installed.)

Picture shows the LED bulb installed. You may need to adjust (by turn them) them once you install the overhead console, at least temporary.

I plugged them up to test them out. I believe they are bright. (Turn on the LED bulbs, to see if they work. If one of them doesn’t work, you may need to flip the bulb around.)
For the reinstalling the stuff is reverse of removal.
Here is a couple of pictures already installed.

LED Panel Lights Installation Guide (Base on Dodge Charger)
The lights that i bought are not the same size as the halogen bulbs that come stock. The do come with connections for both the front and the back so for $25 you can do your entire interior. Not bad if you ask me. For now just to make sure i liked them i ordered one pair. $12.50 shipped.

FRONT LIGHTS
Ok, first off you need a small flat head screw driver. You will push this up by the part of the light you push to turn it on. Once you get it up pry it down. It will only come down a little, like this.

Once you get that done look up and you’ll see a piece of plastic holding it in. Take the small screw drive and push it up to the top of the plastic and push it in and pull down once you get it free. It will feel like its going to break but unless you put an astronomical amount of force on it it won’t. Couldn’t really get a picture of this.
Once you get the piece of plastic off you need to take the old bulb out and get a pair of pliers and pull the heat shields out. They’re a bit of a pain and i really just clamped down and jerked it. Once you get them out it should look like this.

After that take your light and put it in the clamps. Before you put the double sided tape down MAKE SURE THE LIGHTS WORK! If they don’t work at first try flipping it around in the clamp connections. I turned the lights completely off when i was swapping it around. Didn’t want to take the risk of getting shocked or screwing something up. Once you see that they are working Peel off the double sided tape and push it up there where it fits. I found it fits nicely and looks good right here.

Check to make sure all is still working.

Now tuck the wires up in the light cavity making sure they don’t block the lights.

Now to put the piece of plastic back on you work backwards. Start with the back and clip it in.

Then push the front in. You might have to push the piece in a little. then boom you’re set! (the right one wasn’t stuck up hard enough so it is resting on the plastic and looks a little funny)
